3 Swept out to Sea

All alone, on the dark sea, growing very weary, Greg was drifting farther and farther from the safety of shore. How many of us are drifting on lifes sea away from the God who made us and loves us. He made us not as a lower animal that is not capable of knowing him, but as a living soul, with a heart that can know, love, and obey him. Instead of doing Gods will we have all sought to please ourselves and because of our self-centeredness have drifted far from God and fallen into sin and done what is hateful in his sight. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

He loves us and in order to bring us back to himself he sent his Son into the world. The Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Not counting the cost, or the pain, he went all the way to the cross. If I be lifted up, the Lord Jesus said referring to his death on the cross, I will draw all men unto me. Now all who realize their lost condition can come to God the Father through him. The only way for a sinner to be safe is to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. The blood he shed on the cross is able to wash away every spot of sin. The blood of Jesus Christ Gods Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Greg didnt perish in the water that night. Through out the long hours of darkness he sang songs like Home on the Range to keep himself awake. Then out of the darkness of the night he was startled to see a giant freight ship bearing down on him. The prow of the ship was slicing through the water like a giant knife. Huge waves of foaming white water curled up its sides. To his dismay the ship was headed directly towards him. It would crush him and snap the log to pieces as easily as if it was a toothpick. Wildly Greg waved his arms and yelled with all his might. Just when all seemed lost, the boat turned slightly to the side and slowed to a stop. The captain hearing that a man had been lost at sea had prudently placed a sailor to act as lookout on the bow of the ship. He had seen Greg and notified the captain with just enough time to avoid hitting him. They picked him up out of the water and Greg was saved. It was a night he will never forget.

Before one more night goes by, wont you make the decision and ask the Lord Jesus to save you? Then you will begin a new life of seeking to do his will. You need not drift away from God any longer. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
